Cleaning the jute sole
Wipe each shoe with a dry cotton cloth to remove as much dirt, dust or stains as you can. Add a tablespoon of mild soap and two cups of water into a bowl. Stir well. Dip a toothbrush into the soapy water, then gently brush the jute, making sure to remove all dirt between the braided strands. Brushing too hard can break the fibres and cause them to untwist.
Cleaning the upper shoe
To clean the top of the canvas espadrilles, dip the tip of a cotton cloth in mild soapy water. Clean stains on the fabric by rubbing in a circular motion. Use a clean, damp cloth to rinse the soap. Repeat as necessary until the shoe is perfectly clean, then leave it to thoroughly dry.
