Cleaning the jute sole
Wipe each shoe with a dry cotton cloth to remove as much dirt, dust or stains as you can. Add a tablespoon of mild soap and two cups of water into a bowl. Stir well. Dip a toothbrush into the soapy water, then gently brush the jute, making sure to remove all dirt between the braided strands. Brushing too hard can break the fibres and cause them to untwist.
Cleaning the upper shoe
You can buy a leather or suede cleaning kit in most high-end shoe stores. Follow the kit directions, cleaning the uppers only. Do not use water as it can result in stains. Leave shoes in a dry place.
