Made in Brazil, in the region of Porto Alegre, the ESPLAR trainers are named after the Brazilian NGO which brings technical support to the organic cotton farming families that Veja works with in North Brazil.
Crafted from organically-sourced leather this classic lace-up 'Bastille' style has an electric twist at the back.

*The back panels are made from Tilapia hides that come from freshwater fish farms. Tilapia is an Amazonian fish which has fine scales and gives a strong yet subtle elegant leather. Since they are usually thrown away, Veja is transforming waste into a luxury material using a completely handcrafted process.
Veja uses Tilapia back in 2013 in several of their styles which are tanned only with vegetable extracts creating an assemblage that is unique on every piece.

Generally, VEJA sneakers are true to size. We recommend going for your typical size, however, each style may fit your foot differently. If you are in between two sizes, we suggest choosing the smaller size.
